Our American Fyre Designs fire bowls come in square, rectangular, and round shapes across sizes from 24″ up to 48″.
Smaller fire bowls around 24″–32″ work well as an accent piece for a compact patio or as one of several pieces around a seating area, while larger 40″–48″ fire bowls serve as a central gathering point for bigger backyards or entertaining spaces. Sizing should also account for recommended clearance from seating and structures.
Natural gas (NG) fire bowls connect to a home’s existing gas line for continuous fuel without refilling, while liquid propane (LP) fire bowls run on a propane tank, which offers more placement flexibility since there’s no need for a gas line hookup. Several of our Chat and Marseille fire bowls are available in either configuration.
A fire bowl has a wide, open basin shape designed to showcase the flame across its full surface, while a fire urn has a narrower, more vertical silhouette that resembles a classic garden urn with fire coming from the top. Gas fire bowls generate less airborne ember risk than a wood-burning fire pit since the flame is contained and fuel-controlled, but you should still follow the manufacturer’s clearance guidelines and check local fire codes before placing one on a wood deck.
